According to wikipedia the 0300 uses a Fujitsu MB86967 while the 0400 uses a Realtek 8139.
Would still be fun to see internal pictures of the 0300.

I wonder what the difference is between the HIT-300 and HIT-400. If it's something as simple as a jumper change, a different bios or if the architecture is totally different.

Another thing is that if you have the box set to TV it outputs RGB through the Din-15. Handy for those with no scart plugs but with a TV that can still use RGB.

You need to have the box set to TV when you turn the console on, after the boot sound switch it over to VGA again and it should work. At least it does that to me.
