 my brother gave me all his old games and his is one of them, how do I know if its "pal"... what does that mean?

 well ill try my best to explain it
a copy of a game that is pal is european/autralian so wont work on american or japnose dc ( unless you have a copy of an import assistant ) TO see if you have the pal pso just check the box as it either says pal or ntsc ( american) somewhere on it
unfortenetly only pal pso is still playable online so ull need a copy of it from ebay uk or wherever u see it and a boot disk to play imports on u american dc .
if u cant get people to mail it to america i could give u my adress and ill would send it to u pso v2 is what u want by the way best 1

Normally...

A PAL Case is much thicker than a NTSC case and you can put two GDs into it.

For example:

EDIT it also says pal on that bit aswell
