Howdy guys! Just wondered if anyone knew anything on these games? Their online capabilities were previously as follows:-

Railroad Tycoon 2 - a Four player online game saw each player competing to meet the objective first.

Virtua athlete 2k - Upload your own PB's and download others records.

I believe both were EU only releases (VA 2k in japan). I have both on order and shall test within the week if no-one has any ideas? would be interesting to see!

I have virtual athlete, ill go check it now. (cant remember any online functions though)

Edit:
The online functions were simple rankings.
OK i tried it. It connects and loads up the VA homepage and you can click go to ranking, there is then a select language screen, you try to select a language and it times out Sad. I have a feeling the 2 pages you can connect to are already stored on the disc as they loaded instantly, but i'll double check and post the URLs if I find any.

Edit again: It appears the pages are online, here: http://va2k.dricas.ne.jp/html/page/top_eu.html note this is the PAL europe version of the game. I quickly edited the url for the us version (doesn't take a genius to do): http://va2k.dricas.ne.jp/html/page/top_us.html has the same problem. The page it is trying to get to is http://rank01.dricas.ne.jp/sega/html/va2k/usa/index.html which doesn't exist EU one is: http://rank01.dricas.ne.jp/sega/html/va2k/eng/index.html

Note: I just tried the Japanese one as well: http://va2k.dricas.ne.jp/html/page/top_jp.html exactly the same problem, this doesn't exist: http://rank01.dricas.ne.jp/sega/html/page/jpn/index.html

P.S Does anyone know if it would it be possible to write a scipt that pulls the data from a VMU file into a rankings table?

That would be easy. I've been thinking in doing that for a long time, but the major problem is if the vmu data is encrypted.
Sonic Adventure's contests data files are all encrypted for example Sad

That would explain why I saw it listed as online so many times at various places and it always confused me. Shame they pulled the online part Sad
