Hi,
Nah, pretty sure its not the cable as I have tried it with a different scart cable with the same results, so it seems highly unlikely it has anything to do with the scart cable..especially as other DC display through it perfectly. Odd isnt it, I think phredreeke has the most likely answer, a broken connection of the Dreamcas't output that is used by a scart connection...but I don't know for sure. Cheers, Craig |

i know the working number of dc's is steadily declining, but if you live in the uk gamestation sell them for a mere £15, would still be a good project to try and fix it though!

No, the RGB pins doesn't matter to the other signal types. Only to RGB Scart and VGA. Composite/S-video/RF uses different wires.

Thanks Lozz, although im ok for now, I think 3 spare PAL DC's and 3 NTSC-U DC's should keep me going for now didn't know they did them as cheap as that though...depending on if they have stock anyway Yeah phredreeke, you seem to have the most likely theory thats for sure...trouble is, how would you go about diagnosing it for sure and then fixing it...I have taken a look at all the pins and their links to the main board etc, but still cant see anything wrong...oh well doesnt matter I don't suppose but if anyone has anymore ideas on how to fix the problem please post Cheers, Craig |

I'd suggest putting it at an older tv and using the unaffected Composite/RF connection. Then use another of your dreamcasts with your regular set w. RGB SCART.

Yeah thats not so much an issue really...probably just use if for parts to be honest if I find no way of fixing the problem which seem unlikely...thanks though
