Striker Pro 2000 was released in PAL under the moniker: UEFA Striker
- Elemental Gimmick Gear is, without a doubt one of the best RPG's on the Dreamcast. It was orignally a Saturn title, and was delayed and released on the Dreamcast instead. It has a lot in common with many Japanese saturn RPG's. Most of the game is all hand drawn sprites, and has a very unique style. The environments are gorgious. I also love the soundtrack. There are some 3D graphics, which are pretty basic. When you engage boss battles, the game switches to an arena style match, featuring real-time combat. The entire game is realtime. No turn based stuff here. |

sorry,i didnt know some of the name changes.
could someone tell me which,if any, of the games in the list are good, or even go through them all.Thanks |

Well, that is sort of a problem. What is good or bad is unique to each individual. Everyone has their own tastes. Most of the games in that list, and about 70% of the Dreamcast's total library is beloved by Dreamcast fans. There really arn't too many games that arn't worth buying for the Dreamcast. Even the games that arn't stellar, are priced low enough that it is easy to justify picking them up for 5 dollars.
--- I will list some of the titles above that are of the highest quality production wise. This will atleast help you start to parse what order you would buy them in: Alien Front Online Bomberman Online Elemental Gimmick Gear Gundam: Side Story Last Blade 2 -Heart of the Samurai Mars Matrix/Mars Matrix Ooga Booga Seaman Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram Most of the above are either online, arcade, or first party developed. These are also more expensive, and will run you some serious dollars. Mars Matrix is currently the most expensive out of those games. --- On the other side of the spectrum, only buy these titles for very very cheap: SEGA Smash Pack Volume 1 Q-Bert Test Drive 6 Hoyle Casino --- Also you should be able to get all of those sports games for a few dollars each easy. Most of them are developed by Visual Concepts, however it should be noted that World Series Baseball 2K1 was developed by SegaWOW, and was on the NAOMI arcade hardware. |

but would it be worth getting online games which i would be unable to
play online and whose main attraction is that they are online |
||||
|
||||
Well for me they are fun games, regardless of online. I have no idea if you are going to be engaged with the gameplay without network connected human opponents. I can't say whether it would be worth it for you or not because I don't know what games you like to play, or what genres you prefer.
I don't necessarily think that with all online games, that the network functionality was "the main reason" for their development. Bomberman and Alien Front both have extensive single player experiences and are quite challenging. Also if you have played a bomberman game in the past, that is pretty much what you are getting here. Classic Bomberman gameplay. So, what you need to start asking yourself here is "Do you like Bomberman?" You seem to want others to tell you what to buy. You need to start asking yourself what games you like to play. For instance: Are you interested in RPG's? Arcade games? strategy? simulation? FPS? mech games? Then once you have figured this out, you can ask more specific questions. Such as which RPG has a longer or more developed story line, etc etc. It's all about research, and figuring out what YOU want to play. |

NHL 2K2! reasons why its good:
- Great multiplayer (make use of all your ports) - Plenty of teams/uniforms/players - Don't usually mention graphics but they are very crisp and clear - Great realistic but fun gameplay - Fighting is suprisingly good compared to other hockey games - Its usually pretty cheap - Good league/championship modes |

I know when im not wanted team22, I'm sorry but nobody said you wern't wanted. There is no need to be defensive or insecure in this situation. We are just trying to culture you to learn for yourself what types of games you like to play. There are a lot of game players that tend to look towards others for what games to buy. We try to counter this by encouraging people to find their own interests when it comes to games. This is why we are asking so many questions. We are trying to find out what you are actually looking to purchase. If it is just non-pal released games, well then get them all. However we were trying to determine what your interests are, to narrow down which games to purchase first. So far you have given some good information to show you are looking for games that you can't get anywhere else in PAL, and games that are very different & unique. Here are a few that meet these qualifications: Ooga Booga - There really isn't a game like this. It is very death match oriented, and has slick stlyistic graphics. The offline gameplay is pretty much the same as it is online. The game runs very good in splitscreen. Here you have a typical "UT" style offline mode, where you work your way through each map (island) trying to come out on top. This game is great for playing with friends, and any game where you can throw shrunken heads at your opponents and set their ass on fire, gets a thumbs up in my book. Virtual On Oratorio Tangram - while you can find Virtual On games on other platforms in PAL, this is the definative Virtual On title. Some people prefer the original Virtual On, but by and large VOOT is widely considered the highest calibur Virtual On title released. If you have never played Virtual On, this game does not control like an FPS. It has a technical control scheme that you have to be willing to get used to. The game originated on a Model 2 arcade board, and has been ported to the Dreamcast in flawless fashion. The performance is incredible. Seventh Cross Evolution - This is supposed to be a very strange title. A surrealistic evolution based RPG. I have the gam, but have not booted it up yet to get into it. So this is all I can say for now. If you are big into shmups or 2D fighters Last Blade 2 or Mars Matrix would be wise pickups. These were not released on any other platform in PAL territories. These will run you $30-$50+ USD each. |

Is it possible to pick up Virtua On cheap? I've become a bit of a mecha nut recently!!! (Zone of the Enders, Armored Core).
Also, was there anything like Super Robot Wars released on Dreamcast? I've heard ALOT about the series from someone on my own message boards and I've also played the Zone of the Enders game that was released on GBA that uses the SRW engine, so I'm thinking of trying to get some of the series or something similar to play. Also are there more mecha games than just Virtua On, I've head of Gundam Online, but does that have a single player mode? I'm in a similar boat to Team22, I dont really know whats worth having, import wise (I'm also a PAL gamer, but getting my first NTSC-J console this weekend, which is a Dreamcast), although I have an idea of what I'd like to try. |
