I think I was one of the few if not only people who didnt pirate for the DC and I wasnt in the tech mind at the rise of it. I never got the info on how to play a JPN imported game on the american console. Could someone tell me how. I looked around the site a little bit before asking. Thanx!!

Well, everyone here buys their games Cool If you want to boot imports on your Dreamcast you can do so using a variety of discs:

You can use an import boot disc such as DC-X.

A cheat disc like the "Cheats and Codes Vol. 1" which has a green / brown cover. You can find these for cheap on ebay and other use game shops.

Another option is to burn the Utopia Boot disc to a CDR.

I personally use the Cheats and Codes Vol. 1 disc. It works great.

dont forget the mod chip if you really want to experiment with one of those. what i use to play import games is either the gameshark cdx or utopia boot disc both burnt onto a cd-r and it works fine.

yes but a treamcast is something like 180 dollars, then shipping from asia, and possibly some extra costs.

Why they call it SE....? I got this black one ummm 8 months ago or longer. From what I know they made 3x versions of the tc. The latest (black one) has the best screen.

Back 2 topic - get one of these bootdiscs. There is also a utopia bootdisc avaible through the net (for free). DC and imports isnt a problem.

i believe its called a special edition because its got a widescreen, and i also believe the widescreen actually was wider than the dreamcast part where you put your game so when you folded it up it stuck out over the edges.
anyways just get a utopia boot disc, it is completely legal and free.

Nope --- the wide screen (16:9) was the second version. I got that 2 -- but the screen quality was 2 low - and the model itself looked ugly due 2 the bigger screen. The black one isnt a 16:9 screen - its a normal 5 zoll screen with a very good picture (damx is that all offtopic Razz)
