Level layouts are very similar, but there are more players per level and everyone on their has various cheats and mods and hacks. The great thing about UT on the dreamcast was that it was 4 on 4, when it was at its peak (and even towards the end) it could be fantastic. I tried to move across to the PC version but every server required me to download custom maps, or featured too many players for my liking. I always preferred 4 v 4 and I liked using a controller not a mouse (I know I'll get flamed to high heaven for that!), I'm generally not a FPS fan but UT on the Dreamcast really had me addicted, I practically lived on it.

Fired it up the other day for a game against the bots and it was gutting. The game is so absurdly easy against the bots, its a shame that UT disappeared whereas Q3 stayed online.

While the bots can be easy depending on the difficulty you have set, UT is a fun game either way. I still boot up UT regularly and play offline on the DC.

I do not think it is a shame that Q3 is online today. I feel that we are lucky to have it online with all of the features that it has.

Not quite what I meant.

Its a shame UT disappeared when Q3 was designed in a way that ensured it could be kept online. UT should have been designed in the same kind of way. Its good that Q3 is online too - I need to get a BB adaptor and have a go at Q3 again Smile
