A problem is present when trying to use standard 56 k modems for the PC-DC server. This is that the highest modem available on the consumer market is v.90, and the upload speeds of these modems is usually 33.6 kb/s, at the most.

Single-ISDN delivers data at a rate of 64 kb/s, correct? On the guide at the Gamecube site, in a list of requirements for getting online with the dialup modem, I read this: Analogue Converter (If you have an ISDN Connection). Now, I'm not completely sure of how ISDN works. All I know for sure is that it uses specialized lines, different from phone lines, to deliver data, and the data is delivered through a digital signal, and not an analogue one, (hence, the analogue converter.) Still, I am curious: could such an analoge converter be used as a bridge for a PC-DC connection, and if so, would the upload rate be higher than 33.6 kb/s?
