What's the easiest way to find out the MAC address of a DC modem?

Unless I am going mad, I am pretty certain modems do not have mac addresses....unlike network cards etc, which have a set mac address, a modem does not use them. However, certain programs will assign a false mac address to a modem in order to work with it, as far as I know that is the only way a dial-up modem can have a mac address.

Why do you think you need such information anyway?

To make a long story short, it was just curiousity. At first I thought I might be able to use it to register the machine on a network so I wouldn't be blocked from certain sites, but by the time I posted, I realized that registration has nothing to do with the problems I was experiencing.
