i no longer have a home phone. i now use a PC-DC sever for my online DC games. and i still want to be able to play quake 3. so i found a wav of dial tone and edited it to be long enough to use for the swap trick. i did this by hooking a phone cord up to a headphone jack and then plugged it into my PC speakers. i was able to trick the Dreamcast into thinking it was dial tone. it dials the game and makes it past the dialing part of the connection sequence. it gos past the loggin in part too. it ends up freezing at the configuring part.

i was able to connect and play the game once using this method. but i don't understand the swap trick to well. does anyone here use this or has used this a lot? if so can someone tell me the best time to swap out the phone lines?
