Hi.
I've got a semi-working pc-dc server working at the moment. I get got online with the browser fine, i've even pulled up the new sega.co.uk website. But when I got to play quake 3 or pso, it won't connect. I've installed winroute onto my 98 machine, and it's all configured correctly. I've forwarded the ports needed on my router. Yet it still won't work. I keep getting a "general failure" from Quake everytime I try to connect. Can anyone help please? Thanks, Tom. |

Thanks for the help but I've already tried it, sorry for not mentioning that I already had. It won't connect for a certain online rpg too on other servers. Getting online with the browsers is fine, but these two games just won't have any of it.
Any other ideas? Thanks, Tom |

The next thing you can try to do is to host your own DNS server. You will need to manually enter the game server addresses and their corresponding IP addresses. You would then have to disable DNS forwarding in winroute and enter the LAN IP of the computer hosting winroute in your DC's internet settings.

Right I've got it all working now. On Quake 3, I can't get the Master list, now I know this is a known problem but has it been resolved? | |||

This has not been resolved yet. Using the PC-DC server with Quake 3 somehow prevents it from pulling the master list. You will need to enter the IP address of the server you wish to join manually. | |||
