Yes the PC that the server is running on needs to be powered on in order for the DC Q3 server to function. |

yes you have to leave the pc on 24/7. if u have a home server ucan run the quake server on it. thats what i do and it works great |

actually i didnt kno that stuff unti i found this website i just got my dreamcast about a month ago cauase i saw it can play quake 3 and unreal tournament. I got this store near me called the exchange and they still sell vintage consoles and games |

ya u can use most any old pc as a home server, mines an old emachines eTower running quake III dedicated server on win server 2003 |

Any computer will do, even if it was free. I would be very surprised if you got a computer that couldn't run a 4 slot q3 server. |
