I was wondering if you have to leave your pc on for the server to work

Yes the PC that the server is running on needs to be powered on in order for the DC Q3 server to function.

So I`d have to leave my PC on 24/7 what about if its in stand by?

A Quake III server, like any server requires that the computer hosting it be on at all times. If the pc is turned off so will the server Sad

yes you have to leave the pc on 24/7. if u have a home server ucan run the quake server on it. thats what i do and it works great

actually i didnt kno that stuff unti i found this website i just got my dreamcast about a month ago cauase i saw it can play quake 3 and unreal tournament. I got this store near me called the exchange and they still sell vintage consoles and games

it will cost what ever a cheap PC costs. you could probably find an old PC pretty cheap. so $50?

ya u can use most any old pc as a home server, mines an old emachines eTower running quake III dedicated server on win server 2003

Any computer will do, even if it was free. I would be very surprised if you got a computer that couldn't run a 4 slot q3 server.
