I have also heard these referred to as rom hacks. So are they technically considered homebrew Question

I originally started this thread to share the games above, but I have been gathering up more and more homebrew. I have at least 200 different games at the current time. I plan on posting more once I have them sorted out. Some are really good while others are not so good. There are over 60 Mario games alone and a lot are just graphics hacks, so I would like to whittle this down into a smaller list of the best games out of the bunch. I will only post homebrew versions of games that can be emulated on the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast is a wonderful machine capable of emulating several systems. The purpose of this post is to expand the amount of titles available or at least inform other gamers that these options exist. If you try these games and find one or more that you like, let me know which ones please. I spent a lot of time gathering and patching these games and any feedback you can give will be helpful.

Yea I'd say try to narrow them down to just the best of the best games. Which one did you work the hardest on, or which are you most proud of?

I have decided to start with the biggest and most daunting titles first. this link is to the pack containing hacks of Super Mario Bros. 1-3. This was a beast. I sorted through hundreds of games, deleting all but a handful of the basic graphics hacks and keeping games with alternate levels and original gameplay. I still had over sixty games. My favorites are Dr. Mario world, Super Mario Bros XXXX, and the Luigi Chronicles. I have included versions of Sonic the Hedgehog featuring Mario and Super Mario Bros featuring Sonic. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am very pleased and proud to offer you what is, in my opinion, the finest Nintendo Homebrew Pack in my collection. Homebrew classics such as Legend of Zelda: Outlands and Gannon's Revenge were some of the first NES hombrew I ever played. (Ever hear of ZQuest Editor?) For the SNES we have Zelda: Parallel worlds, Zelda III Omega, and a few Bushido Satellicom Zelda Hacks, and as a cherry on top, Zelda's Birthday, the first hack for Ocarina of Time. And finally, for all the people who downloaded the Mario Pack I also included Super Wario 64, a Mario 64 graphics hack. I would also like to ask that if anyone knows where I can find a copy of a Zelda 2 titled either Return of the Thunderbird, or Rise of the Thunderbird, I am looking. I hope you enjoy these games as much as I have.

NOTE: Read the Zelda's Birthday text file for important setup tips. Also, several BS Zelda files were included because a few were buggy.

Here is every Castlevania Homebrew rom I could find. There are 30 games in all. Compared to previous packs this was small, so I included all of them.

I am curious, what specifically do these rom packs have to do with the Dreamcast aside from the fact that the roms "could" be packed onto a disc to run on the DC if a user wanted to? Are they just NES/SNES roms?

Do you want me to post only Sega? I personally don't know how to mount these, and I was waiting to make my own disk when I had enough to fill a CD, which could be thousands of games. I was also assuming that other people here would know how to do this. I am not a programmer, or a hardware specialist, but I still wanted to make a contribution to the dreamcast community. I am good at research and a driven collector, and strangely, i enjoy tedious tasks. I thought at least I could remove all the leg work involved. I have asked if this was okay at least a few times, both in this thread, and in personal messages that were never responded to. I have only posted hacks, not original roms. Am I following the rules?
