We have needed this thread for a while, and I think its time to add it.

Just be sure to keep this thread focused on short hi's and welcome's.

I would prefer any "discussions" to take place in other threads on the forum. So if you are new, browse around to post more indepth questions and discussion.

This topic should be more of a quick hits hey/welcome type thread.

(Note I harvested a thread from 2009 to get root topic to merge in another users post. This is really being posted June 6th 2011.)

Just thought I'd drop in, say hello, and become a member of what remains of the DC community. I remember many many nights playing Q3A online and loving everything that the DC had to offer, looking forward to Half Life, etc... until it ended.

Here, 10 years later, I am being led back to the Dreamcast.

I've just picked up another used system, and am actively trying to rebuild the collection of games I once had, including 4x4 Evo, Q3A, PSO, SA, and others.

Look forward to talking with you guys, and hope to get online!

Heres to the DC, and the possibility of a DC2 on 12/12/12 Smile

Hey EvoWake, no worries. I just barely created this place for Welcome posts 2 minutes ago Smile

Welcome to the site, and enjoy your time getting back into the Dreamcast. It is a great system with a ton of awesome games both online and non-online. Very Happy

Hey guys its been a LONG while. Just wanted to post here and say hi again. Currently I'm looking at getting a PAL v2 copy of PSO, and acquiring a BBA to play online once again.

hey dude, welcome back. Be sure to add a jabber account to pidgin so we can plan a game when you're setup.

Agreed, welcome back.

I might just be able to hook you up with a few games I've acquired over the past few months, to help fill out your online gaming collection Wink

Hi all, I'm new to the forum. I'm looking for a way to get my Dreamcast online, but I haven't yet decided how. There's a nice "by donation" local service that offers dial up by annual donation of $25, but I'm a bit wary about tying up the phone lines since I'm 16 and I live with my parents. I've also been looking at a cheap voice modem, so maybe I'll take my chances with PC-DC. As for the Broadband Adapter, I might just end up buying one of those instead, since I'm a collector. Anyway, I'm looking forward to playing some Q3 and PSO!

hi Alec1382,

I think you'd be better with the BBA. It's pricey, but works best and will never lose it's value. You will never get the time back that you put into making a PC-DC server :p

I second that sentiment. If all you plan on playing is PSO and Quake, the BBA is definitely the way to go.

Welcome to the site Smile

Yes, I suppose I might just get a BBA. Since I'm a collector, I'll probably just end up getting one sooner or later, so I might as well save myself some time and effort. It's too bad about all those games that don't support it though. Anyway, thanks for the welcomes! Very Happy

be sure to use jabber to keep in touch with us if you want to setup a game. If you're not familiar with jabber, a simple google search will fill you in. I recommend using pidgin to connect with your jabber account.

hello, i am unsure if you know how to get your Dreamcast online once it arrives. it can be overwhelming to new comers. OC has a lot of great information to help you in the getting online section found here
