I tested 2 Dreamcast's with BBA's over the LAN. Everything went smoothly. I ran up to the other player, and shot him until he died. Woooo!

does this mean someone actually created a working piece of software for the bba (for use in future/other games)?

Its not like it was a seperate piece of software that got Doom back online, which could then be repurposed and pluged into any game. The fact that Doom works on BBA certainly means that a programmer could get a different game online. However Doom's code could only be used as a reference. Its like a hotdog bun versus a hamburger bun. Sure they both hold meats, but they are shaped differently. (best analogy I can think of).

Cool, glad to hear that. I had been curious about this [doom dc online] for a couple years now. Laughing

So.. Lets schedule some Doom OC meets! Who is up for it?

Could you technically utilize this over a program like Xlink if you wanted?

You can't tunnel the game over XLink because it doesn't have a LAN function that scans the local network for games, or a local master list view. The game works via direct IP input only, and all users have to manually input everyone's IP addresses.

Does this work with the hit-0300 lan adapter? Not the hit-0400 bba? Would be cool if is supported at least one game. I would love to test mine out with someone. Drop me a pm if you want to test.
