I'm not a huge racing fan, but I've been getting into Sega Rally lately for the Saturn.

Does anyone own the official racing wheel?
Does it improve the playability of racing games?
Which games are worth owning?
Does it have analog acceleration like the 3D pad or only digital?

Thanks in advance for any input you can give Smile

I have never used a Saturn wheel before. I don't think a round wheel exists for the saturn does it? I think its just the rectangular one with handle grips.

I used it for a bit, at the time it was worth it. It offered improved precision in Daytona and Sega Rally.

Nowadays, I'd say you're better off getting a usb wheel and using a model 2 emu. YMMV

Well, I found one for $9.95 so I decided to give it a try.

I hated the spring tension in it that puts the wheel in the neutral position if you let go. It doesn't allow for a smooth transition from side to side, which results in a lot of over-steering.

I did some surgery and took out the spring. Now I love it. You can get the sort of subtle precision I was looking for now. Still no analog gas or brake though.

might as well for that price. Mod sounds interesting.
