Has anyone ever tried adding S-Viodeo to a Sega Genesis. I saw a tutorial online and now I`m considering buying one so I can try it

I tried but couldn't get it to work quite right with my model 1. I couldn't get rid of these vertical and horizontal lines that showed up. I think someone may have come up with a solution, but I just opted for RGB.

Ah yes, the dreaded jail bars. I ran into this when I bought a modded Genesis off someone.

I got around this by buying an XMD-3 from japan, for around 150 bucks. Pricey, but damn worth it. It is pretty amazing because it lets me play the Genesis, Sega CD and 32X all through S-Video.

There is a fix to get rid of the jailbars, I just have to look it up.

I added a 1k pot and dialed out the jailbars to the point where I couldn't see them unless I was an inch from my tele.

It's been found out that the svideo signal (chroma+luna) are what causes the dreaded jailbars in the blue colour signal.

Lifting a pin on the VDP gets rid of all jailbars, but also removes svideo functionality.
