Kenji Eno, the visionary head of WARP, who created games like D, D2, and Enemy Zero, passed away on Feb 20th from a heart related failure due to hyper tension at the age of 42 years old.

He was a staunch supporter of the Dreamcast and Saturn, and the story of how D2 became a Dreamcast exclusive is something of a legendary tale. I am really sad to see him go.

Just curious Nikon. Do you have any back story about the details of D2 being an exclusive. Seems like it would be a good read.

The story of how D2 came to the Dreamcast can be found this this rather long (10 page) interview article with Kenji:

Some really fascinating stuff here. Everyone should sit back and grab some snakcs and read the entire article. It gets all into interesting topics on Real Sound, Enemy Zero, and D2.

Way late to the party on this one, but I noticed the link wasn't working so I tried this one:

Well, maybe not as I can only access the first page of the interview. I'd like to read it all so maybe someone has another link?

Yea 1UP has been struggling to keep the site online with changes made to the server environment by the parent company.

Luckily I have already archived all of the news posts there, along with all of their editorials and reviews. So the meat of the site is preserved Wink
