What is the difference between this list and the one in this thread?

Heh Heh, The other list is all of the Dreamcast exclusives we know about at this time. Not all of them are playable if you do not know Japanese, and a poster on another board happened to mention that none of the exclusives were even worth playing.

So, I made this one, to show that there were in fact, quite a few DC only games, worth tracking down even today.

I hope I didn't confuse anyone, if there are any from the main list that anyone thinks should be here, or is there any on this one, that should not be?

Please advise, tia. Smile

lol who was saying that none of the exclusives are even worth playing? Sounds like a deserter to me... get a burlap sack and lets capture him!

I feel almost all of the games are worth playing, even some of the average western multi-platform ports. I am always interested to see how well they run on the Dreamcast. Maybe NCAA College Football 2K2, since its "college" sports? But then again its practically the same game as the NFL 2K games just different textures swapped out. So as a football game it is still technically sound.

A lot of this stuff is super subjective. Everyone has different comfort levels with japanese text in games, and everyone's tastes are different. I personally thought the very first Godzilla game was very dull, but then you see other people saying they really like it. The Dreamcast is a tough system to be critical over as it has the lowest crap ratio of any platform (I already crunched the numbers).

(P.S. I might merge this in with the other list thread, if thats okay)

Would Maken X really qualify as a Dreamcast exclusive when it also came out for the PS2? They even placed a 3rd person view mode in the PS2 version.

Oh My, you are correct, it was released in Japan (Maken Shao) and Europe (Maken Shao: Demon Sword), I have taken it off the list. Thanks for the heads up.

From the Maken Shao page on Gamefaqs,

Maken Shao for the PlayStation 2 is a remake of Maken X for the Dreamcast. The only difference being that Maken Shao is played from a third person perspective view unlike Maken X, where it's played from the first person view.
