Hello! I have a solution for a problem that I can't find anywhere on Online Consoles. If you have cable phone service, you know that you cannot use dial up on a Dreamcast. However, I was playing around in my Dreamcast's settings in Web Browser 2.0, and switched the kind of dial to "pulse" dial. I then tried to connect to dialinfree.net 's Grand Rapids, MI number a few states away. To my surprise, it worked very well. This was long ago, but I just tried it a bit ago and it worked. As long as you have unlimited nationwide calling, you are ready to go. Hopefully this helps someone out!

A dreamcast connecting with "pulse dial" over a VOIP cable phone service managed to connect to an dialup internet service provider?

Surprisingly, yes. I have Xfinity phone and the DC plugged straight into the wall, if that's what you mean.

Very very interesting. Did you test gameplay? How was the latency?

Sorry for the double post as well. Got a video of it! Don't mind the music, just had to use what was in Movie Studio, and the Heavies are to prevent showing my ugly face and room on Youtube, lol. Didn't have anyone to play with, so if someone wants to do a game with me tomorrow, I wouldn't object.

Nice to know that there's this solution.

Shame I can't use it because theres no free dial-up here in my country. In fact, I think there's no way to use a dial-up provider anymore.
