Wow! My first post in TEN YEARS! 
In 2015 I purchased a Funai VCR-DVD dub deck connected via HDMI to my then 32" Philips 1080p HDTV; this deck has two S-Video inputs (front/rear). I connected my Dreamcast's S-Video cable to this deck and was playing my games "upscaled" to 1080p via HDMI to my HDTV. 
Now in 2021 I have the same VCR-DVD dub deck connected to my Denon AVR-S960H receiver via a Monster 48Gbps Ultra High-Speed 8K Cobalt HDMI 2.1 Cable. And a second Monster HDMI cable of the same type connecting the AVR to my Samsung 50" 4K UHD/HDR TV. So now apparently I am playing my 20 year old Dreamcast "upscaled" to 4K??? 
No, the signal is still 1080p. The deck's signal can't get "upscaled" to 4K via the reciever, as I hoped. Now I am still reading the manual, so IF the AVR has a setting to convert the deck's 1080p to 2160p... 
My Dreamcast's birthday is September 27th, 2001 (when I bought him from EBGames.com) And he spoke and made his first  the day after my birthday: October 9th, 2001 |
