Hey everyone,

I bought a BBA last week and I'm having trouble setting it up.

I'm using XDP and following the instructions from this video -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUWW_mXaqJg

The only thing I'm doing differently is that I can't find a secondary DNS address, only a primary one, so I've left the 2nd field blank.

My BBA is connected into my DC and into my broadband home modem in port x2. Port 1x is connected to my wireless router.

XDP tells me I have "connected" (in as much as the clock next to the BBA text in the bottom right corner ticks away) but I can't access any websites. I tried google.com but it timed out.

Any ideas what could be the problem? Thanks!

ipconfig /all. It 'displays 'DNS Servers'' but there is only 1 number and no indication of a secondary one.

I did the same thing but I let XDP use DHCP. Save then click connect.

Thats what I did and I can play PSO

The broadband modem is NEC NTA-3110 which google tells me is an ADSL modem. It was provided when the telecom company installed the internet. The modem is connected from the WAN input to to the wall which was provided by the telecom company. The BBA is connected into x2 input on the modem.

Any advice? Still struggling. Do I need a secondary DNS?

Oh so you are directly connecting your Dreamcast to the DSL modem? and not to a router?

Typically connecting the Dreamcast to a router has better support because you are connecting to the router's DHCP server or able to have more accurate control over networking the Dreamcast. Sometimes with connecting directly to a DSL/Cable modem you can run into compatibility problems connecting to the "WAN" (Wide Area Network) and getting your Dreamcast to acquire and properly map to the IP Address.

Awesome! I am glad that worked Mr. Green

Yes, but our Dreamcast PSO Server configuration has been awaiting an overhaul. I am hoping to get that done during the next round of server work, and OC PSO will have far easier access requirements (very minimal).
