I love bomberman online for dreamcast, yea I know its not online but...I play it offline the games over all style just really hit me, I love this game. However one thing that baffles me is why you can only use your custom character online.

I just stare at the game while I am playing and unlocking costumes and stuff....why they didn't allow the custom characters to be used in offline mode is baffling.

True; it is frustrating.

The only thing I can think is that they were trying to encourage people to play the game online. Maybe they figured that if you could only use the unlocked stuff online, it would make people get over any fears they may have had over getting online. It would have been reasonable to think that customer would be more likely to spend the time and effort to get online if it was the only way that they could take their newly unlocked items for a test drive.

Of course, now that it's offline-only, we're left high and dry. Sad

The odd thing was that even if you had a total set of costumes there were still two that wouldent show online, odd.

Yeah, unlocking the online panels was annoyingly frustrating. I would sit there with this guy named RIDSTAR for hours just playing the same map over and over again trying to unlock those costume pieces. Ill never forget how hard the crown was for us. Everytime we would find it, we would then kill ourselves to get out of the match, disconnect, log back on only to discover the piece never saved into our inventory. I did eventually save the piece, but I was never able to complete my online collection. =(
