Does anyone have a list of all of the the unreleased Dreamcast games that have found thier way onto the net?
We all know about the big name releases, Half Life/Propellor Arena/QuakeDC but I know a few others have also appeared,. Are any of these worth checking out?

Only if the Age of Empires: The Age of Kings came out for the Dreamcast, I would be the master champion in all things AOE II

That list is DEPRESSING! Crying or Very sad

The Defense Commander thing was me. It's available now, but it was never intended for commercial release in the first place. It was built by Titanium Studios as a demonstration for Microsoft of WinCE programming capabilities. It was never supposed to make it out, but it did anyway.

It's like a 3D first person Missile Command, where you man one of the turrets on the ground. Unfortunately, either my copy is screwy or the game is screwy. I can only activate the smart bombs, and I cannot get my turret to move.

Defense Commander is probably just a novelty item at best, and it isn't really worth tracking down. Titanium Studios also developed one of the Quake I ports floating around the net too, and it's supposed to be release quality. Unfortunately, my Quake port was done by a homebrew group, and it sucks.

Here's a link to the Titanium Studios page explaining more:

Yea I played this on the PC just to check it out. Actually if your really looking for something like this, actually identically like this only a full on game....pick up a copy of "Incoming". Basically the same thing, only you can pick both ground and air vehicles and just attack waves of incoming enemies.

Defense commander is just really as you said an interesting tech demo.

yeah DC was a tech demo by titanium done before quake dc, it was meant to connect to the pc version of DC via the serial cable. QuakeDC is well worth tracking down, there is a release by moi that is now 1.6mb in size (you will need to add your own pak files from the official game or download the shareware paks) it's worth looking out for joymenu too which is a Dreamcast mod that makes the game a lot more joypad friendly and adds a host of cool options.

I only have the pc version of DC though, i would like to check out the Dreamcast version if only to have a quick five minute play.

Very nice (er, sad) too:

PS: I'd be interested in more information about Defense Commander! Anyone knows more about this? Is this somewhere available for legal (?) download?

Lordnikon,

Is there any chance you could post the unreleased games list somewhere on the site just like you do with the free ISP list?

The size of that list didn't really hit me until this thread began, and I'd hate to see the list just fall through the cracks. Having that list may prompt a few more Dreamcast gems to fall from the sky.

Who knows? It's just a thought. There may be one lurking out there that is online playable a la PBA Bowling...

christ: it was released with the dreamcast dev kit as a technical demo for developers to learn from, if you can get a hold of that then you could compile it yourself.

I've not found a compiled image download of this around but i know it exists, the pc version is still on the net if you look around, it wouldnt be big as the pc version is 6.7mb

Thank you souLLy - I'd really love to see Defense Commander running on my DC. Very Happy

What's with Stupid Invaders DC - Was it ever officially released!?

it would be fucking AWESOME if SimCity 3000 had come out on Dreamcast!!! I'm a Simcity fan, and my favorite of the series has always been SimCity 3000. I like 3000 even better than SimCity 4 Rush Hour. so if we could find a leaked copy of SC3K, that'd be so freaking awesome
