This is the bootleg reporting thread. Be sure to report all problems here. Lamers are profiting off of pirated copies. This is unsulting and damaging to the companies that have been releasing new releases for the Dreamcast.

Anyone who wishes to repot an item to eBay should do so by reporting the item id number in the email: Follow this URL and click on email:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_inline/results.html?tier0=report_listing.html&tier1=1&tier2=2&con tinueButton=Continue+%3E&contactUsJSFilename=report_listing.js&contactTitle=Report+a+listing+policy+ violation+or+prohibited+%28banned%29+item

If this link for whatever reason isn't working then go here, and follow through the steps:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_inline/index.html

(Note: eBay sure does make it difficult to find a link to report an item. Fucking rediculious.)

Tumalu started a thread regarding a questionable bootleg on ebay. However the item is removed so I could not see if it was this same seller.

The problem is this guy, he has been doing it for a while and selling lots of them, I almost bought a kof 2k2 and then realized the price was way too good, and he sells it as a normal product not telling you its a copy unless you email him. Also click on "view sellers other items" and you will see all the different variations he is selling. Even made a US Ikaruga:

That is not the same person. The person with the other bootlegs had feedback comments like...."It fit perfectly and was recived quikly A+++++" and other comments that pointed to them selling clothing. Also they had like only 17 or so feedback comments, this person has 102. Just too many people doing this nowadays.

Dunno if this counts.. but this guy is selling his entire DC collection, with 21 'backup games'. Apparently, he lost the real copies of the games (Marvel vs Capcom 2, Spiderman ; lost) and is selling the bootlegs with his system.

Yea that stuff i'm not sure what to do about. It's like, the burned games are just kinda tacked on as an extra. The real things to look out for I think are the single games. Like when people are trying to sell individual burned copies of games. When people are liquidating their DC collection, tossing in some backups I don't think is al that bad specially when the whole lot is selling for 21 bucks hehe. Glad you pointed that out though so it could be clarrified.

This one really agrivates me because this is the same dude that I ALMOST bought Project Justice from for $4 on here. Obviously, he was going to sell me a pirated copy. ::sigh:: You just cant trust ebay at all anymore unless you can see a clear picture of the game's disc you are about to buy. It's scary...Who the hell would actually buy copied versions on purpose?

I dont see anything wrong with this auction at all. How do you know that is the same dude that you almost bought project justice from him?

I thought that this auction qualifies as having bootleg games, like half of them are copied

uh, all half lifes are. should i report those? There are two for sale right now. One guy wants $50 and it has a case. it looks real, like a real manual. i HIGHLY doubt it though.

Report it, Chile. That isnt the real CD cover. The real one was the one you can see when you break open the crates in Blue Shift. This guy is selling a rip-off, and did a terrible job covering it up.

There is also another dark side to the world of pirating Dreamcast games, using these bootlegged copies puts wear on the GD-ROM drive and causes its lifespan to shorten... I am not just saying this to try and get people to stop pirating these copies, but if you want your DC to last longer.. don't pirate games.
