There hasnt been, and wont likely be for awhile. The modem is currently very poorly supported in KOS and not enough people have a BBA to consider making a game thats networkable. Scherzo (the guy behind superfamicast) is currently updating nesterdc in a release thats tenativly called nesterdc se, and he plans to try to get something going over modem or bba to make nes games playable over the net, but I really have my doubts about the possibility of his success in that venture.

That is a shame that I have noticed. I have found a website that teaches how to program games for the Dreamcast, and if I EVER manage to get all of that info crammed into the ol' noggin, I'll go straight to worth on an Online game.

Yes, quite a while ago (back in 12/03).

Sam Steele (c99koder) released a version of his ZZT interpreter, DreamZZT, that would connect to a webpage using your BBA, download the small games that the engine uses, and save them to your VMU.

MetaFox, I believe he was thinking more along the line of hardcore game, not like minigames. EX: A port of Starcraft (not gonna happen, but fits the example bill)

that would be freaking awesome. Doom Online for Dreamcast

I know there's already a homebrew port of Doom for Dreamcast. all they'd have to do was put the network code in and program for network support and....voila! instant Doom Online Carnage!

since it's simply doom, one of the simplest games around, would it be possible to be able to start a multiplayer game and host and play from a 56K Dreamcast and it still play fast, if they could program it to do it? I know you can do it with some computer games, although it's horrifically slow. it might be possible though, since it's Doom. then you wouldn't have to worry about official servers. otherwise you could arrange for somebody with a BBA to host a game on their DC and play like that. we could work SOMETHING out
