The first game to use some form of internet ability, I had a blast with Sonic Adventure. When I finaly got online in December 1999 with a keyboard in hand I would visit the Sonic chat boards and discuss the future of the DC. We'd talk about Shenmue, Sonic Adventure 2, the coming of Chu Chu Rocket. Man those were great times.

I loved the idea of the extra downloads for the game that unlocked new goodies. Also, being able to trade your Chaos online was cool. Just those small internet features real brought a community to the title and helped gain new fandom.

The DC was the first and last console I bought on launch day... It hasn't been the same since.

The whole 60fps thing was new. Hi-Res graphics and great sound was new. The whole VMU memoru card kicked ass. The internet connection element was groundbreaking. Playin' Sonic Adventure the first time in a kiosk in the summer of 1999 was phenominal. Getting my DC on launch with a VMU and SA was one of those golden moments in gamin'. Hell, the console was my soul internet connection for half a year.

Great, great memories.

Yea the internet features in both Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adv 2 really showed what the Dreamcast's internet capabilities could do for a game that wasn't even online multiplayer. I *think* the SA2 boards are still functional. Last time I checked people were still talking on them.

Ya I just had to check it out but yep the SA2 website is still operational. Looks like the downloads are still all there and the boards are up.

I gave into the TEMPTATTIIIOOONNN
to do a little bit of INVESTIGATIIIOOONNN
with my Dreamcast FASCINATTIIIOOONNN.

There's a little bit of "Cajun-Man" for ya! Wink

The downloads for the game are really nice, like the contest they had for designing a new kart for kart racing
