Be sure to buy and play through Grandia II; it's one of the best RPGs ever.

I was gonna say Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online, and Final Fantasy 7, but then when the page loaded, I noticed you already have SoA and PSO.

get Final Fantasy 7! it freakin rocks!! best RPG ever

Record of Lodoss War is pretty good, too, but I've been stuck in it for quite a long time. it's a hard game, but it's good.

I would just like to take this opportunity to brag... errr, "share" my recent score. I found a complete copy of Grandia 2 for the DC in perfect condition (opened, but not a scratch on either the game disk or the music disk, manual in excellent shape), for $12.00 . Not only that, but it's used, so I get 20% off, therefor dropping the price to $9.60 .

The various reviews online say it's one of the best RPGs on the DC, but it has almost zero replay value, and is a little on the easy side. I can't really bring myself to reccomend a game I've never played before, but tens of reviews can't be wrong.

But I did play Silver, and while it's an interesting premise (and I really liked the art style), I can't reccomend it. It's just too... well, not reccomendable.

To me, I've never played an RPG with replay value. It took me 54 hours to beat Grandia II. I loved it. But I didn't want to play it again, at least, not immediately. It was worth the purchase, even though I hardly play it anymore. I treat RPG's like how I treat movies. I don't like watching movies more than once [there's only like three movies I out right now I can watch repeatedly and still like it], and I don't like playing RPG's more than once.

My favorite thing about Grandia II was the battle engine. I actually enjoyed getting into battles with pesky things running about. It was ingenious. The timing. The stragety. It felt arcade-like and RPG-like at the same time. Plus, Mareg will kick all of your asses. And Tio.

is Hexen an RPG? I only played it for like 5 minutes, but it seemed to me like a Doom clone
