I currently already have all of those maps. 1-24 and the SS maps.

What has been done to them specifically for you to warrent a re-release. Anything unique? Or just packing them together for a massive download for people?

Any further information would be greatly appreciated. Wink

Well yes it's one package all in one pk3 , one problem on the standart dc map pack with them the most pc player lurk around , is that it have not all maps , and the most textures and sound is missing , so i was thinking
why not re release this pack for the otzher gamers out there . And the ss maps are hard to get out on the net :]

Anything unique

The "unique thing" is that this pack have musik build in , boot up ypur quake with a dc map , and you will see you don't have musik at all Razz

Also it looks better , coz some textures are missing in the original map pack , means better grafik
i could make some screenies if you want , i think i maked allready some for my website , but hard to find
on a 120 gig hd , when you don't know where you saved it , and don't know under wich name ^^

I will release also the XDC map pack that have also all maps build in its 55Mb for that peopelk with a slow connection , no musik at all , and don't have the missing textures , but it's also hard to get

Oh ok so this is a repack of the Dreamcast map packs, specifically geared towards users looking to play these maps from their PC. Is my assumption correct?

Yes that correct : ]

I could also make a pack only for dedicated servers , that would then yust include the maps , and the bot files
and would be maybe 10Mb big

I release this pack , mostly for the Ukr clan members that wan't to play the tourney with dc users , so they can play all maps have musik , and can see the better grafik , yeah it looks so much better , i should really post pics

before = after efect Rolling Eyes

yea man thats awsome :] Thanks for clarrifying, so then other people know what this release is as well.

I never knew there were such stark differences when playing from the PC version, since I only use the maps for dedicated servers and not for Playing from the PC.

Good stuff Smile

Thanks for putting together expansion maps for Quake III: Arena. That is really cool, and I can't wait to try them out.

I apologize in advance for asking what is undoubtedly a basic question, but here it goes: How exactly would a DC Quake player use the map expansion pack you've put together? I've never used an expansion pack for Quake, so I don't know if it's info thats burned onto a CD and played from there, or if it's downloaded to a VMU for use. It seems like it would be way to big for a VMU, so I'm guessing the CD route.

Do these maps need to be re-packed with game files on a CD? How does it work exactly?

Thanks for the help. It is most appreciated.

The answer to your question lies in the replys already made above. Please read the entire thread for insight on what Fallout has actually released. Wink

Sorry, I read the entire article, but I still don't know how to use those files with my Quake game. I can download the files to my PC just fine, but I don't know where to go from there.

Sorry about that. Some assistance would still be greatly appreciated.

The map expansion is for users looking to play the Quake 3 Arena DC maps off their PC. It has nothing to do with the Dreamcast end user. Apparently the DCmappack wasn't released originally with music and has some texture glitches when run on the PC. So Fallout released a new map pack release to allow PC users to have the same audio that dreamcast users have as well as fixed some textures.

Oooh, my bad.

I finally get it. Sorry about that, I had it completely reversed around in my head. I thought this was a way to play PC exclusive maps on the Dreamcast with enhanced texture and sound.

Thanks for the clarification, Lordnikon.

Hello all,
Is this still working for anyone? I'd like to download the pack w/music, and also seed it. When I try to download, I get a message stating: "Dreamcast_quake3a_ext_map_pack_2": Aborting the torrent as it was rejected by the tracker while not connected to any peers. Message from the tracker: requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker."
I also tried the backup site, but can't get a link to the torrent from there. If anyone has any info or can offer help, I'd greatly appreciate it.
