I got a new Shenmue last week and I've been playing it every day so far. I haven't played it in 4 years and I'd forgotten just how great this game is! The amount of work that went into it is mind-boggling. The music, graphics, and sheer amount of things you can do is just incredible. The only problem I'm having is I'm rushing too fast through the game....I think I'll play again after I'm done this file and really take my time, try to get all the collectibles and stuff, learn all the moves, fill the cluebook, that kind of thing.

what's the going rate for UK Shenmue 2 w/DCX converter? I think I'll pick that up soon, I can't get enough Shenmue!

The going rate for me was $10 lol. A got a friend in Germany, coming to the states soon, and he bought me Shenmue 1 and 2, and Headhunter from a pawn shop. $10 each. All very good condition from the pictures. I am going to freak when I have them in my hands.

Yes, Shen Mue is an incredible game. Plus, I'm always looking for an excuse to do this:

I've got Shenmue II on my Dreamcast. In my humble opinion...

It is twice as awesome as Shenmue I.

And that's saying a lot.

Is Sega still planning on wrapping up the trilogy with Shenmue III? I certainly hope this is the case, because otherwise, I'll go postal.

I've heard people indicating the project has been delayed or scrapped. Please say it ain't so!

Just went on eBay to check the prices of Shenmue II...looks like I'm going to be paying quite a bit for this game if I decide to get it. Is $30US used and $50US new basically the going rate?

I got mine used for 65 dollars. People. Outbid. Too much. That's the most I've ever spent on a game.

Shenmue is indeed an amazing, and unique game. I must have completed it 8 or 9 times - I've never played through any other RPG (if you can class Shenmue as one) more than once. It also manages to capture the beauty of the real life Japan incredibly well, if you ever travel to Japan you will see how similar a lot of small towns and villages are to that of the locations in Shenmue (not surprising I guess since the Shenmue locations are real ones) . Speaking of which, here's some photos of the real Dobuita (I didn't post the URL because my AV software picked up a trojan on the site) :

Well it's a real street after all, so Shenmue should reflect it in a small way in the 80s

i was under the impression that shenmue was a 12 part story and that shenmue 1 and 2 each had 3 parts in them. so 2 more games are due in the shenmue story but this info is quite old and im sure its different now. shenmue mmorpg is simply the original game in mmorpg format, it is not a continuation of the story, just to clarify that for you guys. as far as i know shenmue 3 was in developement but it was put to one side until the next generation of consoles is around.
