server mods where they modify the weapons are soo annoying. I mean there are some cool ones, but there are a lot of annoying ones.

The only mods compatible are server side mods for v1.16n, that are applied server side. Not all mods work but a good amount of them do. Some require some tweaking. got-Freaky has more info on this as he has spent a lot of time messing with mods.

Also I don't think the mods are annoying. They are a good change of pace. Once more vanilla servers get up, you'll start to appreciate the modded servers more because it gives you options. You can either play insta-rail or go play normal on another server. The more variety the better.

I agree it can be frustrating when you hit the master list and there are only modded servers up, but that's nobody's fault but our own since the power to put up more regular Q3 servers....is in our hands Mr. Green

Hey i got a question. if like the other guy said about downloading hte game (even tho i already own it) but like to then add mods to it. Well can you add mods for example you know half life had counter strike and you know quake III has mods like that not just weapon change but actual gameplay is that possible to do e.g. add a modern first person shooter mod onto it??????

Just it came to mind now

Thanks

You can't mod the actual gamedisc itself. Only serverside mods.

this one guy on a different message board said he was able to get a mod working by riping his game and somehow installing the mod in it and reburning it

People say a lot of things. Especially in the sega scene. Lots of people out there that just plain make stuff up.

I know it wouldn't be possible to make one online, but it'd still be cool for a modification to the Quake III *.CDI file that gave you half-life physics, maps, and weapons. then you could actually have half-life splitscreen.
