i got bored so i took this old p1 that didnt have a cd rom drive nor an OS and i did a network install of linux w/ a floppy. then i installed a q3 server : ) it should be up for a while, depending on the traffic i get : ( when my cs server goes up when i get a case (dual p3 600 mhz each, 256 mb ram) i might run both off the same machine. all i know is that for now its up : ) IP: onlineconsoles.servequake.com
that is, if q3 supports dns, it should but i havnt tested. youll see anyways "frokids q3 server" its ffa w/o mods my connection is 384 kilobits up : ) |

Quake doesnt suport dns i think ,but the dns fowarding isused for your comp
and have nothing todo with quake ,redirects to your acually ip that is registered with the no ip server and yeh my is fallout.serve-quake.com eDIT wowyourserverisup but icannot joinbecause it's dc only

the no ip dns server redirects to 24.225.80.129. gotta add the port. im confused on what u mean. onlineconsoles.servequake.com:27960 |

Frokid I tested ur server. Great ping and cool running.
U said ur server is a Pentium 1? (plz pm if u realy use a P1 for hosting quake games - I ever thought my P1 200 Mhz is 2 slow?) |

u always saeyd ur pc sucks lol . I plan also to make a dedicated server based on linux and the comp on that i want to do that is a ciryx 6x86 150Mhz . the thing is windows eat to many resources , especialy the memory , for many things that u dont even need if u want to use it only as a dedicated server , so get linux (i cannot give u tips what for a version :i ) and run it on the minimal setting means in a command mode , without all the interfaces (and dont install kde r things like that), then your pc can handle a server |

Im a consolero only - means I have no clue how linux works or any other pc stuff. Im able 2 turn my pc ond and off - thats all! - thats why I dont run a server at the moment. See u soon on ur server  (great games yesterday) |
