when you turn on your DC does it make the following noise:

"beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep"

If so, your VMU battery is dead as a dodo.

I was in woodstock ontario in Canada and went to their Dollarama. I bought three packs of three Cr2032s for 3.59 canadian. In america, thats like 2.50. IT IS AWESOME, if I find that dollar stores in america have these batteries, i'll post.

yea i want batteries but there too expensive and not very useful w/ the vmu. imo, it takes too much space and the games aren't as rewarding as the dreamcast games. but to stop it from making that damned beep i'd buy some batteries. and dammit mk that's a great deal. Evil or Very Mad

don't Radio Shacks have every possible battery you might need?
also, plenty of sites sell these batteries, and its the same batteries that the Sega Saturn used for its memory, so you can find it in places/sites that have batteries for the Saturn, you just need to buy 2 of them.
some links to online stores:
http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/scan/MM=9f3da9973e2ddd8f2f098507a3b8d4ab:10:19:10?mv_session_id =o6vIJIYP&mv_pc=86&mv_more_ip=1&mv_nextpage=results&pf=sql&sid=1&cid=1&alpha_id=0

http://www.goatstore.com/info.php?id=371900

and of course you can use ebay, if you don't find it in the dreamcast accessories section, you will definately find it in the Sega Saturn accessory section, you should just get 2. VMU uses 2, SS uses 1.

(BTW the goat store has RARE Sports DC, the black one w/ black controller and only 50USD, that is a HOT buy, I just noticed it looking for this guy's batteries)

Is there any way to get rid of the beep without replacing the battery? What happens if you take the dead battery out? Will that disable the vmu beep? Man that beep is annoying.
