OK I plan on getting online with Quake sometime soon but I was wondering if if supports keyboard chat? This would be great to know because if it does then I'll go buy a DC keyboard.Thanks!! | |||

| yep, it does, its tough to do tho cos you have to stop and bring up the typing box thingie while the guys you'll be playing against blow the shit outta you. | ||||

Nah, ultrapro, usually people don't chatfrag. Specially if you are playing with friends. Well actually when I am playing with friends I don't really care if I get blown to pieces hehe. But usually people are respectfull and will not frag you if you are chatting. The little blue chatty thing will go up over the persons head. | |||

gRimGrAvY014, its also good to get a keyboard because then you have regular direct access to the cmd console, and can enter in some very usefull commands. Such as being able to directly connect to a specific server while playing in another game. Plus it lets you view the ongoing log of the game and convos.
Can bring up the cmd console by pressing F12. |

When I first joined Quake III Arena I chat-fragged because I was so used to playing on the PC where chat-fragging wasn't a bad thing, it was just a part of the game. Luckily, I was quickly disciplined  (Thanks, Martie) Anyway yeah keyboards really help. |

things i HATE about that tho:
some people will start to "chat" when i'm just about to kill 'em and then when i run past them they exit the chat window and kill me. BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!  only happened a few times tho.

this reminds me of when my bro used to play Rise Of The Triad back in the day...
and he paused the game and his friend just waited till he got back and killed him... i was way too young to be any good... although i was always dying to play |

Should be able to find mouse and kb's on amazon for a few bucks each. In the end, after shipping, should cost you anywhere form 12 to 20 dollers total. | |||

Last trime i saw a mouse (buyright) it was like 20$ bucks, i was like "what the f***?" cuz i am used to mouse a keyboard games now, plus Q3A isnt that good with a controller. | |||
