Hmm well, I just guess hehe :] When I used the Utopia and a monitor, I just waited a bit, and guess when the raindeer was there. Then just popped the disc out and put them game in. Then usually the game would boot up. Did you try that?

POINT Nikon - Utopia bootdisc dont show a start menu via VGA - but if your game works with vga, the utopia will load it fine.

problem, if i put the utopia disk in like you said it comes up with the usual message saying to "replace my av cable" i leave utopia to load and then put in quake. the message does not leave. i can just put the vga cable in when utopia has loaded quake because it says the monitor is out of frequeny. can you tell me how you do this nikon? thanks a lot, lozz.

Hmm... Yea... I did this on my NTSC system. Your on a PAL system so...its a different setup. I'm not sure why you are running into those problems. I wish I could offer some more advice on the issue of Utopia. You could always pick up or burn a cheat disc of some sort like gameshark or action replay or something that could be used to boot it. I think. Your using a PAL Console, and VGA and trying to boot an import. I know its possible, just not sure what the proper combination of things is to make that work. Maybe another user in PAL Region can add some more incite on the matter. |

Looz I had the same problem - but trust me, running quake 3 US on a PAL system via vga cable by using utopia bootdisc works !
If you like pm me for some PSO and I will talk 2 you there about that problem. If nothing will work (what I cant imagine) we will find for sure a way 2 get you a working bootdisc. Like I said: connect your DC via vga cable 2 a monitor. Run the utopia bootdisc. Dont worry about the message: change ur cable or no signal! Wait some secs (thats the time which utopia needs 2load) DONT CHANGE YOUR CABLE. Open ur topcase and change the utopia cd for the quake one. Your DC will reboot and after it loads the quake cd your monitor will start 2 work. .......... if you are changing your cable during that booting process - nothing will work. You cant set a tv cable into ur dc after you started the machine with a vga cable! Posted Wed Sep 28, 2005 6:52 am: lozz wrote:

That message which you are talking about shows up, coz utopia dont work with vga - but thats NOT A PROB! |

Posted Thu Sep 29, 2005 4:20 pm: right, im still having trouble so ill tell you exactly what i do: -plug in my vga adapter connect it all up and put in utopia -turn on my dc and wait until message comes up, then wait about 30 secs more to allow loading -open up the toplid and put in quake -wait -then nothing happens!!! |
