Taken from the UNDER DEFEAT thread, I thought it deserved its own. Play-Asia just put out some info saying that Dreamcast fan's should be getting UNDER DEFEAT on May 23rd, 2006. Things have really been going well for the Dreamcast despite a few months break where no new releases came out (although we got a game back online!). In my opinion, Under Defeat has some of the best graphics I've seen on NAOMI hardware. Comparing it to Zero Gunner 2, the only other helicopter shooting game on the Dreamcast, Under Defeat seems to be showing much, much more detailed graphics, and the textures seem to be spot on. I've been keeping an eye on these product for a while, and I thought Dreamcast had lost G.Rev as a developer after Senko no Ronde was announced for the Xbox 360. However, due to the loud cries the Dreamcast community has been making, and most likely to the news of Radilgy as well, G.Rev will be sending another quality shooter our way. Drinks are on me!
(A big thanks to SNKy, who originally uncovered this info) Product links and pre-order info to be found at www.play-asia.com |

It's got a rotational moment type thing, but its much more limited than Zero Gunner 2. This game seems to be less complicated than other shooters that have been coming to Dreamcast, focusing more on the actual killing than borders, buzzing, or colors. From reading babelfish-translated pages on it though, there is an interesting element where you get more fire power the longer you wait to fire between sequences. Either way, I am one happy panda. | ||||

That's what I gathered from the article.

Before it's even started, 06 is beginning to look like one of the best Dreamcast years since its production halted. Happy new year, indeed! |

Woe woe... 2006 won't beat 2004, which saw 5 new releases + 1 Drekore. (minus dating sims of course).
Here is a refresher course(if I am missing one, let me know, but I think I have them all here: 06/19/03 - King of Fighters 2002 09/25/03 - Border Down 09/25/03 - Border Down (LE) 02/24/04 - Puyo Puyo Fever 02/26/04 - Psyvariar 2: The Will to Fabricate 03/25/04 - Shikigami no Shiro II 03/25/04 - Shikigami no Shiro II (LE) 10/28/04 - Baldr Force EXE 11/11/04 - King of Fighters 2002 (DreKore) 12/16/04 - Chaos Field 02/04/05 - Puyo Puyo Fever (DreKore) 04/07/05 - Trizeal 02/16/06 - Radilgy 03/23/06 - Under Defeat ??/??/?? - Ring Age There are probobly some releases in 2003 before KOF2002 that I am not listing, but those were expected releases. In the second half of 2003 is when new game releases were seen as oddities, starting with KOF2002 and Border Down. |

I hadn't seen that latest video yet. Wow...
Plus, this game does one thing I have never seen in a shooter. The WWII-esque smoke from the explosions hanging in the air, and then getting carried by the wind. It really adds depth to the environment. Also...that snow is just completly insane, and the way those trees are swaying with the oncoming snow... ...completly bananas. |

this looks a lot better than radilgy It's unfair to compare them. Radilgy's graphical style is supposed to make it look like it's on a cell phone, but still look graphically crisp. This game is pretty much pushing NAOMI as far as possible. Secondly, as Mars Matrix proved, it's unfair to determine if a game is good or bad on its graphic's alone. |

Radilgy looks very fresh and just generally different to other shooters ive seen, its nice to see games companies doing somthing different. Under Defeat on the other hand just looks amazing with all the smoke and explosions, i can imagine this would push the dreamcast ALOT and its nice to see it being done. |
