when playing online what tracks do yall use. Because i went on recently and non of the games had the regular game tracks as racing options. So I was asking which maps are the most common, since i am limited on vmu space.

So...what pannta means is that you can download those tracks to play on your DC but you can only race PC users with them but not other DC users?

I'm kinda confused about that...

Roundup

If you download custom made tracks to your dreamcast you can play them against pc+dc users without problem

Here i have plenty of links for sites that host lite tracks , but on most you have to know the names

http://members.lycos.co.uk/fall3/index-dc.php
http://members.lycos.co.uk/fall3/links-dc.php

Heres a rough guide how to download tracks

http://members.lycos.co.uk/fall3/index-dc.php
http://members.lycos.co.uk/fall3/guide-trackdownload-dc.php

And here are some Tracks for you to test !
Write them down to a paper and follow the guide . PS: The board cuts the url its LITE not LI TE

Is there also a site where I can download some more cars? I saw some sites on the links you posted, but they were all in zip form...

Thanks,
KoNeko <3

EDIT: I have no clue what I'm doing wrong but whenever I try to download a track, I always get a 404, and I double check the URL so many times, but no matter what I seem to always get a 404.....can someone please help me with this? I'm trying to download the .lte file in the 4x4 game like a guide on one of those links says...

Well the links I posted do work , but the board puts a space into the url

If you have a pc you could check this 2 sites . The only sites that list url's

http://tonkas.no-ip.org/Tracks.nsf
http://pat.4x4wh.com/lte

I would like to help more eg come online with 4x4 and race some , but i go to bed now .
Anyway wish you luck : )

I know about the space in the URL, and the sites did work on my PC...

But I found something out, I logged in and was able to download a track. But once I logged out and logged back in, I typed it back in exactly as I did the time before and I got a 404 error.... I have no clue why its happening, but I'm thinking it has something to do with my connection... It's very strange that using the same internet settings only with about a 5 minute time gap can do that...

Well, thanks

People often seem to have problems downloading tracks via 4x4 Evo. It is a reoccurring problem and as far as I know nobody has been able to pinpoint exactly what it happens. You could try moving the track over to another web location. Like on a private geocities site or something to see if you can get it to download that way.

Custom Car's Trucks can only used by Pc and Mac Users . But you aint miss that much , i only tried some trucks once and was not that impressed . I still use 99% of time stock trucks .

Problems with track downloading

Yep no one knows why , but dc users can't download tracks from some webhost .

Tripod seems to work fine for most peopel as example , but other can't download from there .
Seems to be a bug that made it into the final version . . .

I put some tracks up on my own personal website, in this directory: http://users.rowan.edu/~gabara45/4x4maps/
See if you can download any of them onto your Dreamcast:
http://users.rowan.edu/~gabara45/4x4maps/krawlin.lte
http://users.rowan.edu/~gabara45/4x4maps/krawlin2.lte
http://users.rowan.edu/~gabara45/4x4maps/dunebuggy.lte
http://users.rowan.edu/~gabara45/4x4maps/insane.lte
I encountered the same problem as fallout; a space shows up between "4" and "x" on each url. Disregard it. Someone tell me which, if any of these, you are able to download, through either PM or a normal post.

I'm not sure. I downloaded krawlin.lte from my domain to my VMU, and it seemed to save properly; I didn't get an error message or anything. I tried to do the track in time trial and split-screen, but it didn't show up on the list. I was unable to check to see if I could play an internet game with it, because I can't reach the chat server through my DNS. (I could reach the master server and log in to Gamespy, though.)
