Lately in California its been hot ( about 110* f)...anywho I was wondering that with this heat can my DC be damage from it....
On a side note my DC rebooted a couple of times while I was using it, could this be a sign of it being too hot?? |

Yeah, unless you have AC, I'd suggest you lay off of the Dreamcasting for a little while. The Dreamcast has a little bit of a heat problem as it is and combined with record heat, you're primed for disaster.
Take this time to clean it up real good. |

Make simple sure your DC can get enough air - dont let it stand on the ground or in a tv rack. There is also a second fan avaible, which you can put on the backside of your machine.

Sounds brutal but here's how I got the resetting DC of my brother fixed:
Hold it a very few cm above the ground and let it fall... That fixed it the resetting prob for a few months. Anyway, if you google for 'resetting DC' you should find some better tutorials on how to actually fix the problem once and for all. |

Unless there is some sort of proof for what dropping the dreamcast on the ground does to fix the reset problem, I don't think that is good advice. Sure it may have worked for one person, but people could damage their Dreamcast perminantly by dropping it on the ground.

If you have the resetting problem here is a brilliant tutorial about how to fix it : http://www.consolevision.com/members/dchelp/index.php?Tutorials:Randomly_resetting_fix.
The resseting was driving me mad, so I followed this tutorial (with my mum's help), and voila! The resseting bug has only just begun to happen again, and it's been a whole year since I followed the tutorial. I'm going to do the same thing again this week, which should (most likely) put it off for another year! |

It's been said already, but I just want to reiterate the fact that dropping the Dreamcast is not the appropriate way of repairing it. You risk damaging the fragile GD-ROM drive and cracking other internal components. If you've ever opened a Dreamcast up, you know that it's all packed in there pretty tight.
Follow the tutorial (posted above) for bending the pins. |

Kicking it, swearing at it, threatening it, pleading with it have all worked for me in the past. But I agree, don't try it if you have a more scientific option available. |
