When I first started playing Starlancer, I was very confused by what the functions were of each ship. Unless you have played the single player first, there is no way of telling what each ship can do / no comparison guide. Well, guess no longer because I've compiled all of the relevant data here:

Full guns (3/6), Collapser guns (9/6), Gattling lasers (19/6), Nova Cannon (5 charge)
Special Weapons(s):

*The ratios beside each of the main weapons tell you (in seconds) how long you can fire / how long it takes to reload. Values are approximate and rounded to the nearest second.

*All data has been pulled directly from the game, itself. To get the ship's stats, I took screenshots, then measured the smallest distance between stats and determined that there are 10 points for each stat.

Can I turn this into a guide? (author credited to you of course) Plus I could feature it on the front page. And it would pad me some time to get that UT guide done I have been working on.

This is a great guide by the way. One that I will personally be referring to on a regular basis.

No problem, it's yours. I've edited it so it's a lot easier to read. It wasn't 100% complete before. I had to go online and create a game 12 times for each ship just to get their full weapon names. Very Happy, but then I decided I wanted it to also have the amount of time it can fire for as well as reload time when I got to Wolverine, so I had to start all over. Evil or Very Mad

I hope people can make good use of it.

I'm sorry. I searched through the forum and didn't find anything on the ships. I saw your guide on gametypes and items on the field, though. Very good guide. How far were you into making the ship guide?

I just found your thread on the "infinite" weapons. I'll have to go back and check those out. I wonder if the normal weapons that do deplete after usage can also be affected by this (ie: if you hold the button down, they overheat...)

Here is the topic I started a long time ago. I only got 5 ships done so far (ok, i did those in a three-day timespan). I was planning to do it when I get some free time and have access to my DC, which has been hard to find lately.

What I was writing was more about suggested strategies and fun things each ship can do (like the Grendel firing backwards or using the speed of a shroud to win battles). I mostly went from my experiences playing with every ship in multiplayer matches, which I know not a lot of players have the patience for. It would be interesting to see how your stats compare to the ones in the Starlancer Guide book. Technically the guide was written for the PC, but a lot of the ship stats were probably carried over to DC without much modification.

Dear Dreamcast TM,
I love you.
Sincerely,
Pakkitman

P.S. I now have yet another unexcusable reason to replay the Starlancer single player campaign.

Haha Laughing, thank you.

I should probably caution everyone that this guide was intended for the online aspect of the game. If I remember right, you can select which guns / accessories you want to use in the single player campaign. I haven't started the game back up since I did this guide so I don't know how it works. I have to get another Dreamcast project out of the way before I do anything else, so maybe Mertens would be able to pick up there.

Who knows, my guide may cover the offline game. I'll try to check later.

The guide is now up. Cool

I reworked some of the data, I hope you don't mind. This is also a feature on the front page now.

Hey the page looks great Nikon. Just a couple of notes about "Secondary Weapons." When online, the Shroud cannot use the cloak it has in single-player, and the Phoenix does have reverse thrust.

Wait... Phoenix does or doesn't have reverse thrust, because I've had it listed that it does from the beginning.

Edit / Confirmation:

OK, I just checked the online game. Shroud has Cloaking Device listed, but you cannot access it. Hitting "B" does nothing. Also, Phoenix does have reverse thrust.
