I just recently bought the rest of the Goatstore games I was still missing. Trying out Maqiupai (a Mahjongg game), I was a little disappointed at first by the graphics and the control (no mouse support). Playing a little longer though, I'm enjoying it - and the online ranking feature is simple but the website is nicely done: http://www.goatstore.com/maqiupai/index.php

The highscore tables are far from overcrowded, which is good and bad at the same time. It's good because I get a chance to enter the top ten which I normally don't. But it would be definitely nice to have some active competition.

So if anybody here owns the game - time attack mode is good fun for any break and doesn't take more than a few minutes per round.

Well, it's a homebrew commercial game. Don't expect wonderful graphics.

I feel Maqiupai does have good graphics. It has a good overall esthetic look. The game looks and feels like a complete game rather than just some amateur tech demo. Also, there should be a set of quality standards expected of commercial homebrew games.

Next time I put in an order at the GoatStore I will have to pick this game up. I have been meaning to for the longest time.

I think my expectations were mostly driven by the Amiga classic "Shanghai", which had spectacular graphics for the time (1986).

Nevertheless, I recommend buying the game and to support Goatstore publishing to any true Dreamcast fan. The professionally produced covers and printed CD are almost worth it alone. And as I said, the game is fun and I would appreciate to welcome some of you on the record tables!
