Well the latest news...might be good if someone could confirm this? is that the IP address of the servers has changed since coming back online...if true this is significant....this is what is being mentioned on the servers at present...any ideas anyone?

All you have to do is ping the domain name and the resolved IP address should be echoed back. PSO uses the following:

North America game01.st-pso.games.sega.net (64.95.121.93)
Europe master.pso.dream-key.com (62.73.186.207)
Japan pso01.dricas.ne.jp (211.132.254.67)

The European server is still using the same IP address. If you ping the Japanese server, you also get a reply.

OK, thanks for checking that...just wanted to pass that on just in case Smile

One interesting thing I noticed myself...when previously checking the 50hz server (which has been offline for over a year now) it used to give you a blank screen with no servers...you know with the usual PSO lobby type image in the background..almost like the main gate was still there but no ship....now however it gives the "maintenance message instead" this is only since this morning shut down as I checked it yesterday funnily enough. Sega have obviously changed something over the last few hours..what are they up to?

uranium-235 was playing and said that the ip address of the servers is in a different location, I think someone moved them and now SEGA isn't in charge of them

yeah well someone ELSE told me it was different. I'm trying to dig into this more. But the thing segadreamcaster said about the 50hz servers is also strange. I see no reason for them terminating it only to bring it back 3 hours later. And when I was told the IP was different I was thinking the server may have been moved, and it kind of made sense... I need to find out for certain what the IP was before termination and what it is now.

A PSO player said the IP is different, and he's still adamant about it being different, but can't remember the exact IP, so I have no way to confirm it.
