I bought 3 seprate copies of SA that didn't work and it led me to beleive some force didnt want me to expierence the damn game. Now, It was a hellllllllll of a long time coming but I finally got a WORKING copy of Sonic Adventure for my dreamcast. I'm surprised how fun this shit is to me and the remixed music tracks just took me back and so far I love everything I've played so far. Gotta say the camera CAN get iffy at times but those reviewers that whined about dying alot because of it were just twitchy and whiny( I'm 35% in on sonic with 20 lives and I haven't died but once because of the camera). Also, that casino zone for sonic sort of uhh let me down.

Glad to hear you finally got this game working Gforce Smile yea Sonic Adventures camera has always been a bit wonky. It is practically notorious for it. I sort of just deal with it knowing it tends to freak out sometimes. With enough practice you can sort of get used to it, but there are times where it just goes berzerk and you die because of it.

I still have not finished Sonic Adventure, and barely started 2 (infact I only played the Demo that came with PSO). I need to get back on SA1 and play the game. I own so many games that I have a huge backlog of titles to play. So it is no surprise that a title like Sonic Adventure still begs to be completed in my DC.

Yea man, before I had a job I always completed one game before I got another but when I started to get paid it turned into "play this game halfway thru, buy 2 more and repeat."

That's the thing with having lots of games, there's very little time for each individual game.

Sonic Adventure is a great game. The issue I had with it was that while Sonic's game was awesome, the other characters were kinda dull.

I actually never had a problem with camera problems in Sonic Adventure or its sequel, yet whenever this game is the topic of discussion the camera is always talked about.

On a side note I recently purchased my second copy of this game for $0.50; as well as Worms World Party, THPS1+2, and NBA 2k2 all for $0.50 each I couldnt pass on that kinda deal.

Good times..

@ gforce. i own both sonics the cam can be funny but it didnt make the game any less fun for me. but i know your frustration with the bad copys. but it may have been your DC not the disks. i got 4 or 5 sonic 2s disc 1 for me and 4 for my cousin. i picked him a copy up tested it on my DC it worked fine after i sent it to him he said it didnt work. so i got a nother and the same worked for me but not for him this repeted untill i tested all the copys the store had. he never did get one that worked for him. the discs all looked pretty good to they didnt have many scratches on them.

like lordnikon i own a crap load of DC games im sure i have at least 50 of them i didnt play very far into. i tend to buy to many at once. ill find the one i like and play it and the rest just get tested to be sure they work. sonic hapend to be one i liked and i finished both 1 and 2

Sonic Adventure has to be one of my favorite dreamcast games! Congrats on finding a working copy, and good luck playing!

I used to spend hours on saturday and sunday mornings taking turns playing SA with my little brother and sister. That game was just such a beautiful launch title, especially when Sonic is just racing at top speed. I've spent so many hours playing through the first time. And that day when I beat the final boss, so epic!

Now, I usually play at least one action stage per day just to unwind after classes, it's so therapeutic for me! Enjoy your find!

Sonic Adventure was amazing when it was released, the game showed the capabilities of the console and it was a big difference from what other consoles had to offer at the time. It was the 2nd game I completed for Dreamcast, the 1st was Resident Evil Code Veronica. Though that game is only 100% completed with all emblems but that is very hard. I used to try all the esmerals in 2d Sonics, but emblems are to many and some very hard to get.

I never had much problems with the camera in SA 1, but in SA 2 it has happen a few wierd things, like passing a barrier it wans't supposed to and so Sonic went drifting forever in space and never died so I had to reset the game.

Sonic Adventure was the reason I bought a Dreamcast. As soon as I saw the opening FMV, I was breathless. Also, I spent many hours on raising a Chao. I still haven't beat it yet. Embarassed

The first time I ever saw a Dreamcast it was at a TRU running the Sonic Adventure demo. Compared to the games I was playing at the time, it blew my mind straight out of my ass. It was so fast, and so bright, and so fun, I couldn't believe it. The perfect example of a great, classic Sega game.

The addition of the exploration stages with secrets and equipment to find was awesome, and while the other character's levels ranged from (I thought) pretty fun (Tails), to mellow and relaxing (Big), to super-lame (Amy), it was still an interesting idea to be able to play so many different gameplay styles in one game. Adding to that the pinball and speedway mini-games, and it did a lot for a "simple" 3D platformer. And that's not even counting the Chao raising.

I still consider it to be the best 3D platformer I've ever played, above even the original Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot 3. I still fire it upfrom time to time and just blast my way through a few levels with Sonic.

This was my first game for the Dreamcast and at the time it was the main reason for me to get one. I played all the old sonic games to death and was itching for something new. I still remember how amazed I was when I saw that intro video, the music, the action, everything was so perfect. There are so many fond memories like this I have for this system and this game. I think i've beaten it three times

I agree with lord Nikon, with a big backlog of games, this game rarely gets much time in my DC. I'm aiming to complete this though and I'll be glad to comment once I'm done. Ps the camera does take some getting used too.
