Well, it's been a long time coming, and it's finally here. The *RoX* clan has a dedicated server now Smile

The server is running the Carnage mod, which supports multiple game play styles. It even supports mode changes on the fly.

Feel like playing baseq3? Tell a ref and they can change the game mode with a command. They can also change it to Zappy, Shottie, Excessive, and Promode.

The ip for the server isn't static, so the ip I post might not be correct forever.

Type this into the console to connect directly to the server:

;connect 75.161.229.118:27951


This server should be up close to 24/7.

Nice the more servers the better .

Some tips , change the port from 27951 to 27960 So if you need to input server ip's to play you don't have to input the port

Use some kind of dynamic IP domain service so if Ip change you can use the domain name to connect to the server . This comes in very handy (If people know about it) no need to remember ips

PS: I'm curious as i working to setup 4 quake servers again . It says in the serverinfo the cpu is a pentium 166mhz with 128MB of ram . How is it performing (running windows and a quake server at the same time) ?

My Homeserver is a p75 with 96Mb EDO ram (Previously 32MB FPD) running debian 4.0 with 2 quake services . Runs fine so far (so far Rolling Eyes )

The server information is incorrect. I forgot to change that when I set it up.

The server is currently running on a Pentium 3 733mhz with 512Mb SDRAM running Windows 2000 SP4.

It's kind of over kill for a Quake 3 server, but it's just a spare computer I had.

Ah.

You lagged because we were playing the Excessive mod, and there was about 30 exposions on screen at once.

I'm sure if we were playing Zappy or Shottie or something it would have been fine.
