Senile Team posted the cover art from their upcoming commercial homebrew game Rush Rush Rally Racing.

Plus they updated their Rush Rush Rally Racing info page.

The game will be released in 1Q 2008.

Wow, a commercial homebrew release that's not a shmup? Those are rare indeed.

The art looks fantastic. Can't wait for the final product.

Seems like the perfect formula to me. Classic old school NES type gameplay with spruced up with new graphics.

Yeah, good to see some new homebrew. Top down racing? Well, the screenshots i've seen don't look bad, so I may check it out.

Man this has been a long time coming! lol

The screenshots still remind me of GTA2.
I personally love the top down view,
it makes for a rather different type of gameplay as you can see
behind, in front and all other angles all at once.
That meansif someones coming up behind you its easier to block them etc.

I like the artwork cause its not too serious,
notice that UFO going to pick up a cow? Laughing

I've been looking forward to it for a while, it'll be cool to have a new DC game that is completely original, and not a shooter. I love shooters, but it's nice to have a variety. Also, the screens on the website look like they're in widescreen, which is cool. The AotB engine supports 16x9 as well, so I won't have to stretch the image if I want it to run fullscreen on my monitor.

They've said it'll be a commercial release, so I wonder what the price will be?

Actually, no, a homebrew shmup on the Dreamcast would be rare. There is only 1 homebrew shmup on the Dreamcast that has been released, and that is Last Hope.

95% of all Dreamcast homebrew releases are not shooters (Feet of Fury, Inhabitants, Maqiupai, Cool Herders, Age of the Beast, etc etc)

There was Drill, and that other shooter "Feuer frei!" but those arn't necessarily finished yet, and "Feuer frei!" is sort of different. So Last Hope is the solo released homebrew shmup on the Dreamcast.

Rush Rush Rally Racing looks great so far. I love the cover, and like how Senile Team decided to start doing all original artwork after Beats of Rage. If there are UFO's snatching cows on the cover, I would hope this is in the game too! Wink

does anyone know if this will be on a GD-rom? they say it is 95% done now, so it shouldn't be to much longer. i am looking forward to seeing how the final product looks and plays.

No it will not beon a GD-Rom.
As its not an official release.
However Im sure the packaging will be up to standard,
I haven't been dissapointed with any unofficial releases yet.

Im really looking forward to this game aswell,
We really have a good variety of commercial games coming out
on the DC in the near future along with this there is W&W and Dux.
