I was thinking about getting GTA2 for my DC. I checked some DC game lists to be sure it even was released for DC. But after I even found some release dates and saw it listed in a DC collection on this forum I understood it exists. But when I searched for it on Ebay, I couldn't find it on any of the European platforms, just a few copies on ebay.com. Wasn't there a PAL version in the first place? Or is it just very rare? (I remember checking Ebay some time ago when I couldn't find it either) On Wikipedia, there is a PAL release date stated: May 2nd, 2000.

Edit: Okay, sorry for being really, really dumb: just minutes after this post I found the PAL version while checking for "Grand Theft Auto" instead of GTA in the DC section of the European Ebay. Just couldn't imagine someone using this long name for a game whose abbreviation is so famous.

I still need to get this one myself for NTSC. How are the loading times on the Dreamcast version of GTA2?

it actually loads rather fast.

i would like GTA2 more if it had a view like the new games, but it has the top down view. this makes it hard to see when a turn is coming up. also there are roof top over passes that look likethe walls of buildings. you can drive under these but its hard to tell them apart from a normal wall. its just confusing trying to drive fast with a top down view in a crowded city.

Probably the biggest fault on GTA 2 for the Dreamcast was the poor controls. You can't use the mouse and keyboard setup, nor can you change the music. Not bad, but it's hard going back to it.

whether you ppl beleive this or not, I can get you a copy of this game, but please send the money first after I see how much the lady is selling it for...then I mail it to you dude...Imma try and get a camera and show you ppl how many games are being sold in that freaking store...they have at least 9-13 games in there, 60% sealed, and the rest are either opened or are just naked disk...

Just FYI GTA 2 is not rare in North America. The PAL version however may be rare, as quite a few PAL DC games are.

GTA 2 is my favourite GTA out of all of them.
It is easily the most fun.

Lots of people are put off my the top-down view when they first play it,
It does have it disadvantages such as not seeing ahead as far,
however the camera does zoom out further the faster you go.

Once you get used to it and the controls GTA2 is amazingly fun,
features such as adding oil slicks and machine guns to your car etc.
make the game a good competitor even against modern games.

I agree with you....BTW, that one copy that I told you people about...I don't know if they still have it so if anyone wants it just PM me and i'll let you know if they do or not and i'll tell you they price they have it for(just incase they lock this forum or it gets lost in the list of threads and stuff...so I would prefer a PM(just in case, PRECAUTIONS)

Just ask me if anyone wants the game in PAL. I normally have a stock of 30 to 50 DC games for sale. (I have GTA2!)

I also have some nice PAL DC consoles that are without reboot probs and nice and clean!

Sorry Nikon for the advertising...........not that I am on the hard sell here!

stevespillage is my Ebay name.

All the best!

Kizzy!

(Looking forward to sorting another F355 meetup soon!)
