Hey,

Just thought I would mention that I bought one of the official Dreamcast watches on ebay the other day, well two actually as I wanted to be able to wear one of them (from time to time) and to keep another in collectors condition.

Anyway, for those who don't know what I am talking about, here it is:

I was pleasantly suprised by how very nice it is..really high quality and pretty heavy...was pulling my arm off...lol

Anyway..thats it really, a really nice collectors piece, that somehow managed to be geeky yet incredibly cool at the same time Smile

Highly recommended if you can track one down

By the way, does anybody know how limited these were in terms of numbers? I know they were a limited run but no idea how limited?

Good find. I guessing they're pretty rare because I only found one on ebay and the seller wants $239.00 for it.

Well as I bought the two, which were both on auction from the same seller, I paid two different prices

£62 - $122
£77 - $152

Not too bad...the cheaper one I considered to be a pretty good deal...the second a little bit expensive..but overall pretty decent.

I can't imagine these ever getting cheaper, so I was happy with the price Smile

Only trouble is, despite the fact that they were both advertised as brand new...one of them shows signs of having been worn in the past, which is a shame..but the other is perfect, so not all bad Smile

Actually, it transforms like Voltron and runs up your arm to whisper the time in your ear.

I can't actually come up with an amusing response to anything related to Voltron. Razz

So, tell us, how does it work? I see no clock-ish features on it.

Yeah, I gotta say it really creeps me out when it does this actually...you don't even have to ask, it just does it anyway, on the hour, every hour....woke me up last night trying to escape from it's box to whisper the time Very Happy

Thankfully there is an easier way to get the time from this particular transformer:

Yes thats right, the lid pops up to reveal the time Smile

Sadly it does not use the top button for this, but a button on the side instead..but still a neat little feature Smile

How about "Thats ok as long as it does not form a blazing sword and chop off your ear" Very Happy

Wow a Dreamcast watch and people besides me who remember Voltron. I havent come across either before and now they are both in the same thread. See what happens when I go on holiday for 5 days!!!!!!.

Yeah strange things happen when ur away from home Smile

As for the watch...it seems a lot of people missed it's release, think it was 2006 it first came out in Japan....still wondering how many were made though...anybody got any clues on that?

It's probably better that you haven't seen techy + voltron chat. It means that you're still innocent in the ways of the internet. Smile

My god that is gimmicky. But then again, I was eyeing an R2-D2 wastebasket earlier today so I can't talk...

From what I know..... the watches had a release in 2001 and a re-release in 2006.

The price you've paid for them is a bargain!

Yeah I thought so, and it got cheaper since then...I got the guy to refund me £10 ($20) due to the slight wear on the one of them so thats basically one at £62 ($122) and £67 ($132)

not bad..im happy
