I got this game with some other older console games at a thrift store. It Says Dragon Ball Z on the cartridge, but then there is a bunch of lines of japanese under it. I was wondering if that is just what the us release looks like or maybe this is a japanese version? And, if so do japanese genesis games work on us ones?

Does the cart look drastically different in case shape than your other Genesis games? Like is it really rounded on top? and have a grilled edting on each side?

i dont have a genesis or any other genesis games yet so do not have any to compare too. I think it is not a japanese version though. I typed in dragon ball z megadrive on google and found this http://www.mattretrogames.com/md_games_%20loose/Megadrive%20Jap%20Dragon%20Ball%20Z%20Loose.jpg It looks different than mine. It doesnt have that grilled type stuff on the sides. Also it doesnt say md and bandai on it. So I am guessing this must just be a normal genesis game.

Please take a picture of the game, otherwise it will be hard for me to identify it.

I took some pictures of it b4. I only have a crappy key chain digital camera so the quality is pretty bad.

My guess is that it is a bootleg cart from Mexico or South America. Dragon Ball Z: Buyuu Retsuden was only released in Japan and Europe, and that cart's sticker doesn't match either of those.

Wow really, I did think it was odd that it did not say what system it was for on the cartridge
