Does anyone have any idea why a server would show on the master list for awhile, then stop showing up even when it's on? I'm trying to keep a server up on weekends for the DC but friends are telling me it doesn't show on the master list and when you type in the isp, it doesn't connect, yet I can connect from the PC. Confused

Are you behind a router? and do you have the proper ports forwarded on your router? Are you running Windows FireWall or another software firewall?

Yes, I have a modem/router and am behind a firewall. I have made an exception for the server and the port is opened. There is a DMZ option.. so far this is disabled because it would cancel out the firewall for everything, but there must be something I've missed.

Download ftp://84.19.178.213/quake3arena/server/dcquake3-dedserver/windows/

It's preconfigured, only open and forward port 27960 to the machine running the server.

This address no longer works, you might as well remove it.

You can also try these master servers:
master3.idsoftware.com
monster.idsoftware.com

Thanks.. it works. I think the firewall was still blocking it. When I checked the firewall before, I saw the exception for the game and thought that was it, but guess not. I had to add one for the server.
