I noticed that a member here posted about bleemcast! Metal Gear Solid in a locked topic and how he had difficulty tracking down an affordable copy. I thought I would pass this eBay auction along in case he or anyone else is interested in buying a brand new, sealed copy of bleemcast! MGS cheap: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bleemcast-Metal-Gear-Solid-Dreamcast-NEW-OOP-/310409769119?pt=Video_Games_Ga mes&hash=item4845dd309f

I have personally purchased a copy of bleemcast! MGS from this seller and can vouch that item is indeed brand new.

Hey all! it's been a long time since I've last posted here, hopefully I have posted this in the right place. I'm interested in buying a Dreamcast Divers 2000 and was wondering where would be the best place to buy one and for what price? I'm not looking into buying one just yet but would like a rough idea of where to get one.

Has anyone here ever purchased from Rakuten? I stumbled upon the site based on recommendations from another forum. I'm not convinced though, as the descriptions for products are a little cagey, to say the least.

Rakuten looks like the new site for Buy.com, and they are directly copying Amazon, where they sell products from third party mom & pop shops. What were you looking to buy there?

I wasn't necessarily looking to buy anything in particular off Rakuten at the moment, but just wanted to know if it was a viable option.

Hey guys, long time no see!

So I bought a Dreamcast that was boxed in the Sonic bundle promo box but had none of the advertised contents. Instead, I had bought the Sega Sports black Dreamcast with the associated controller and no VMU. The good news is that I bought it at a bargain price of $90 flat instead of $125 as the owner had originally priced it. The games that came with it instead were NFL 2k, Zombie Revenge and Generator Vol. 2.

The next day I went to World 8 and bought the following:

•Grey Sega Dreamcast Controller used (3x) $30
•Grey VMU used (2x) $10
•Sega All-Stars: Sonic Adventure used $20
•SoulCalibur used $10
•Quake III Arena used $5
•Re-Volt used $4
•Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rouge Spear used $4

A friend had Spider Man he rented from Blockbuster sitting around his house and I bought it off of him for $1. Thankfully the DVD case it was put in had the inserts for the original jewel case and got a spare one I had. Sadly, the cover was torn from it's instruction manual meaning no instruction manual.

Last Saturday I ordered this S-video cable and should be getting it this Friday.

I'm probably going to order a pair of these arcade sticks since they are cheap,
http://www.amazon.com/Dreamcast-Arcade-Stick-Not-Machine-Specific/dp/B000CPZUMQ

but I also found this twin stick that looks more durable than the ones posted above.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/261318481099?lpid=82

Do you guys have any recommendations for arcade sticks?

Hey Kannibal! That looks like a pretty good Dreamcast haul you have there. So Sonic Adventure Allstars was pricier than Quake 3? Interesting.

As far as the arcade sticks, I have no idea about the quality of the Innovation sticks. I could have sworn we had an arcade stick thread here in the Lounge. See if you can find it. I will look again also. If not, we can make one to talk about arcade stick options on the Dreamcast.

The store I got the Dreamcast at has been sitting on it for a REALLY long time that it was easy for me to ask them to bring the price down. As for the odd pricing of the Sega All-Stars: Sonic Adventure and Quake III Arena, I'll just assume they didn't find Quake III Arena as relavent so they sold it for way less. Also, the copy of Unreal Tournament World 8 is selling has a broken cover that comes off and is going for $11. I wouldn't be able to guess how they price their games at that point.

And yeah, I'll also go see if that arcade stick thread is around.

I scored some important Dreamcast Network additions:

  • Dreamcast KIOSK False Modem, which is a plastic piece that fills the modem slots in Kiosk units.
  • Dreamcast LAN Adapter HIT-0300 with Dream Passport 2 for LAN (different from a DC BBA)

Woo hoo! Smile

I ordered Sturmwind from Play-Asia, and I'll never order anything from them again.

My story;

Paid (w/PayPal) on April 27th/13 for(Sturmwind) both the regular and Limited edition w/Krakor, almost $200. Play-Asia had sent a notice that they were expecting stock on the 24th, and since both editions were still being sold. I expected the games to arrive sometime in May. At the beginning of June when no shipping notice had been given, I asked what was going on.

Fast forward to the last half of August, I notice RedSpot Games themselves were sold out of the Limited Edition, so I asked Play-Asia about the status of my order,

To Play-Asia Customer Service
Aug 27
Hello Ann,

Please forgive me for asking about the status of my order, it does not look like your supplier will ever send you the limited Edition w/Krakor. Please advise.

Thanks, amcdc79

Our Purchasing Team still trying to source out your item. Please understand
that it may really takes time as it is a Limited Edition. But we are doing
our best to get the item. However, as of the moment we haven't received any
updates from them.

We deeply apologized for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Best regards,

Ann
Play-Asia.com

Hello Ann,

Thank you for your quick reply, may I ask a couple of questions,

1-did Red Spot Games ever make the Limited Edition, did you even receive
any copies? Sorry, I know that's two questions.

2-do you have any regular editions left, could you send me one, may I get a
refund for the LE w/Krakor? Sorry, I know that's three questions.

Please forgive me for being a pain,
Thanks in Advance,

amcdc79 This is where it does get interesting,

Yes we do received and already shipped before this item. Do you mean, you
want to add another Sturmwind (Dreamcast (DC) No Region Protection) on your
order? So it will be two pieces?

Best regards,

Ann

Hello Ann,

My order was a pre-order, for a regular edition Sturmwind and a Limited
Edition Sturmwind W/Krakor, paid by Paypal on April 27. Your stock did not
arrive until May 27th, which I thought was only the regular Edition. On
June 4th you offered to send a regular Edition to me, and take the Limited
Edition off the order.

Please send me a regular Edition Sturmwind, and refund the Limited Edition
Sturmwind W/Krakor plus the extra shipping I paid when I ordered both.

Thank You,
amcdc79

Dear amcdc79,

In regards with this, can you send us again the email that we have sent you
before regarding on this matter?

Best regards,

Ann
Play-Asia.com

I copied and pasted their June reply, and got this back,

Dear amcdc79,

Just to clarify, the items on your order are :

Sturmwind: Windstärke 12 [Limited Deluxe Edition w/ Krakor] (Dreamcast
(DC) No Region Protection)
Sturmwind (Dreamcast (DC) No Region Protection)

And yes, we have already shipped out before the LE items. However, for your
order it took a long time to restock it. Since we do not have it in stock
yet, would you like us to remove it then from this order? So we can only
ship out your item Sturmwind (Dreamcast (DC) No Region Protection)?

Is this what you mean on your email ' Please send me a regular Edition
Sturmwind, and refund the Limited Edition Sturmwind W/Krakor plus the extra
shipping I paid when I ordered both.'?

If so, we will then refund the excess amount back to your PayPal account?
However, it may have the charges of 2.9% as the refund already exceeds 90
days. We hope for your kind understanding.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Best regards,

Ann
Play-Asia.com

NOW they admit they received the Limited Editions, sent them out, but did not have enough copies to fill the pre-orders.

Also, now they want to charge me 2.9% to give me my money back.
to be continued,

Hello Ann,

Yes, please send a Sturmwind regular edition, and refund the excess back to
my PayPal account.

Thank you,
amcdc79

Dear amcdc79,

We have already refunded the excess amount of US$138.90 back to your PayPal
account. Please kindly check.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Jomarie
Play-Asia.com

Hello Jomarie,

Thank you for the refund, are you shipping the Sturmwind regular edition to me now? Please advise,

Thanks,
amcdc79

Four days later, September 9
The next message from Play-Asia was an email stating that the LE was back in stock, so being an idiot, I re-ordered it again.

September 12th Play-Asia sends an email telling me that both games had shipped, I assumed they would be shipped together.

But NO they were separate, and sent by courier(Fedex) who charges a fee to bring anything into the country($10 for each game) plus 50 cents GST for each game. I do not mind paying duty and/or taxes, but if Play-Asia had sent them by EMS or ANY other method, I would not have had to pay taxes for both of them.

The last insult was, even though the regular edition had been sent in a box, the case was cracked. It is an easy fix, and any of you who had received games in their boxes know they are tough. So it must of been sent with a crack in the case, or am I giving the box too much credit.

Am I judging them too harshly, please fill me in,
Thanks
