Welcome to Online Consoles, Violetta. Dreamcall is a VOIP service provided by Innomedia and isn't needed to connect the Dreamcast to the internet. It's only used it you want to talk to someone else with the microphone peripheral.

Is it free? Where can I get it? Is it connected to the Dreamcast in ANY WAY whatsoever? Or did you just put something up about it because it has a name that sounds Dreamcast-like?

It is not online anymore. I think there are other servers you could possibly use but I think it would be a neat thing to do.

Dreamcall doesn't call telephone numbers. It is just for VOIP between 2 Dreamcasts.

It can call actual landlines, but you have to sign up through Innomedia and it's a pay-per-use service. You might even be able to receive calls (you get a phone number, etc), but that needs to be confirmed.

Is it free to do Dreamcast-to-Dreamcast? Or do you have to pay to do anything at all?

it's free, but I've never been successful in using it. I should pick up another mic and try it out. Would be need to have a podcast that features someone calling from their Dreamcast.

Couple years late reply, but im just curious if your experiment for calling from a dreamcast to a landline had worked Kbuzz?
